Splashing Blue

SPLASHING BLUE

It started with a tear,
but over the year, a tub,
and then a swimming pool.

From there, we went splashing…
a mother-in-law, an old table saw,
a van which honked an odd hee-haw.

And when we finally looked around, wet
Through, and all sluice freed, we just knew—
Time for a truce—for only ocean set our ground.
