Walk Around the Hollow

Mary Blair concept art Ichabod Crane/The Legend of Sleepy Hollow

Since an ultimate uproot,
So much has passed.
Now the unarmed trees,
Indecently hollowed,
Leafless in last grasp—
The sight wounds.

Their higher wood,
murdered for—what?
More fence, more asphalt.
Perhaps its bare gap
Will get back, striking
The site along deep fault.
