Dawn to Dusk
Again, the dawn greeting,
An oven preheating,
Eager to ingest and bake,
To suffocate, to take and take.
And then the business of busy,
Busy at putting out vexing flame
With the sweat from an aimless game
Of emotion and motion, of wary and weary.
Come dusk, the retreating,
A heart disintegrating,
Starving for reward or release,
To sleep, to dream and dream.
